They’re investigating after a dog broke INTO a house and terrorized a Rockford area family.
Police say a dog, looking much like a pit bull, broke into a home on Highway 6 and 10 south of Rockford Saturday night.
The dog made his way into the home through a ‘cat’ door and that was his first target–the family cat.
The owner of the home and her daughter managed to corral the dog into the bathroom but not before the daughter was bitten on the hand.
During the course of the incident…police came across a severely drunken man walking nearby…holding an empty leash.
The investigation continues.
The dog and its owner both spent the night locked up.
