The Winterhawks won the game 9-3.
But it was a chippy affair with referee Al Dixon of Wingham handing out 30 penalties throughout the game.
In between penalties, some hard hitting hockey was played.
Ryan Fry led the way with a pair of goals while singles went to Greg Thede Daryl MacKinnon; Chad Little; Ryan Dudgeon; Brian Kazarian; Brent MacDermid and Bill Monkman.
These same two teams play the second game of the best of 7 set tomorrow in Drayton and then back in Saugeen Shores next Friday.
