It wrapped up in a Newmarket court yesterday with one final witness for the Crown.
The Grey county farmer is continuing his fight for the right to sell raw milk through his Cow-Share program.
Raw milk cannot be sold in Ontario, but Schmidt has argued that it is just as safe as pasteurized milk.
Schmidt faced 20 charges in the trial which opened a week ago Monday and ran for a full week, before adjourning until yesterday for one final day.
The Crown and defence now will have until June 16th to prepare final submissions and Schmidt says the judge is not expected to rule until August.
He is very optimistic he will win the case and the right to sell his milk.
Schmidt says for now it will be business as usual, since the judge did not tell him to stop producing and selling his milk thru his Cow-Share agreement with customers.
