Tenneco is weathering the economic storm very well with no layoffs in Owen Sound since the cutbacks last fall, despite the turmoil hitting the “Detroit Three”.
Human Resources manager Mark Beaul says despite plant closings in the car sector both in the U.S. and Canada, Tenneco orders have held steady.
He says the cars that the firm mainly supplies parts for, seem to be selling well.
In fact, Beaul says Tenneco is recalling some 36 workers for a few weeks beginning on Monday, Feb. 2nd to meet a slight increase in demand for it’s products.
