Southampton is in line for more money for harbour repairs.
Huron Bruce MP Ben Lobb says the latest federal budget has $750,000 allocated to Southampton under the Small Craft Harbours program.
Lobb points out that the money will be forthcoming only if the budget passes in the House of Commons tomorrow.
With the opposition Liberals already on record as supporting the budget, it appears Southampton will get the cash.
Lobb says the money will help provide a safe and functional harbour infrastructure to the commercial fishing industry.
Statistics show approximately 90% of the 64,000 commercial fishers in Canada use small craft harbours like Southampton.
The $750,000 will be used for pier rehabiliation at the Southampton Harbour.
