Two management positions have recently become vacant because the people have gone to work for the Brockton Family Health Team.
Paul Davies says hospitals just losing people in management positions.
He says one of the reasons behind the shortage of nurses in hospitals is because agencies like Family Health Teams and CCAC’s (Community Care Access Centres) are being given funding to expand and are recruiting for new staff.
He says hospitals are fertile territory for those agencies to recruit staff from.
Davies says it doesn’t make the job for him or senior management easier when they are constantly having to recruit to keep positions filled and there is more competition than in the past from other organizations.
Davies says the situation hasn’t compromised South Bruce Grey’s ability to serve patients.
He says they are not even close to having to consider reducing or eliminating services because of not enough staff.
