A 32 year old man is facing numerous charges including assault following an overnight incident in Owen Sound.
City police report shortly after 3 yesterday morning the drunken man was walking with his girlfriend in the 900 block of 4th Avenue East.
He apparently became upset with her about a perceived infidelity and confronted her about it.
The suspect punched her, striking her in the eye.
He then walked over to a nearby business and threw a metal object through one of the windows causing about $350 in damage.
Police arrived and the man fled the scene, only to be caught after a brief foot chase.
Owen Sound police found he was under a probation order, and was wanted on outstanding warrents in other areas.
The suspect was held in custody… on assault, mischief under 5 thousand dollars, escaping lawful custody and breach of probation.
Police say the woman suffered a swollen eye and was treated at hospital.
