A Shallow Lake Community Member is making a difference to the Arena.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has donated three 50 foot propane heaters to be installed over the spectator benches.
Georgian Bluffs Township Councillor Ryan Thompson says the community member wanted to improve the facility by making it more comfortable for fans.
Thompson says the old heating system was a series of three electric heaters all in one end of the stands.
He says the new system will span the entire length of the stands and will be more efficient.
Thompson says the propane heaters will be cheaper to operate and will not add any moisture to the air.
Thompson says there was a need for a better heating system because the Shallow Lake Crushers and other minor teams often bring the arena to capacity.
Preliminary work for the heaters has been finished and they are to be completly installed by the first week in February.
