Developer Tom Kerr (of Tom Kerr Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. of Listowel) has almost completed a 30 unit townhome development worth 3.5 million dollars.
It began in May of last year on Ray Street.
Kerr says ten units have been turned over to new owners to rent out, and are full.
The other 20 will be done by April at the latest.
Kerr also says he is at the permitting stage for a six unit apartment building in Kincardine at Russell and Wall Streets.
He expects to break ground once there is a break in the weather once the permit is granted.
Meanwhile, it was back in November, the Ontario Municipal Board turned down Kerr’s plans for development in Tiverton.
Many residents in Tiverton were against his plans to locate on McKay Street near Ross Street because it encroached on their properties.
Prior to the OMB decision Kincardine’s Planning Advisory Committee rejected the zoning change.
Kerr says he is disappointed, but will forge ahead in the village still with another proposal this year.
He says this time his application will ask strictly for consent, and won’t require a zoning application like the last one.
Kerr hopes to begin the new application process later in the year.
