The Bluewater District School Board will soon be moving into its new office building in Chesley.
Director of Education Mary Anne Alton says the new building is supposed to be completed on February 28th, leaving a two-week time frame for the move to be completed over March Break.
She says despite some minor setbacks during construction, the move will go ahead on schedule.
Alton isn’t ruling out the possibility some short-term difficulties could be encountered as efforts are made to bring all board departments under one roof.
She says having everyone in the same workplace will be the long-term advantage.
Alton says a transition committee has been in place for the entire school year and is prepared for any challenges that might arise. She says even a short distance move can have difficulties.
The new board office building is located behind the existing facility.
Alton says staff are starting to get packed for the move and are sorting through materials that should or shouldn’t go to the new building.
She says arrangements are being made for storage and where to keep records.
Alton says construction of the new 8.4 million dollar office building for the Bluewater District School Board is not only going to be completed on time, but it will also be completed within its budget.
