The SPCA operates in more than 50 communities across the Province and Public Relations Manager Kristin Williams says a number of them have been receiving word that donations have been requested at door steps.
She says it’s definitely not the SPCA knocking on doors and the public needs to beware of these canvassers because the SPCA never conducts door-to-door campaigns.
Williams says in these tough economic times she hopes these scams will not deter people from donating to their local SPCA.
You can donate by calling their toll free hotline at 1-888-668-7722, or visiting www.ontariospca.ca, or by mailing a payment to your local community
shelter.
