It has taken a few days but the OPP in Bruce and Grey Counties have finally calculated the stats from the Festive RIDE campaign.
The four week period was more deadly than 2007 as four people were killed in vehicle or snowmobile collisions in Grey Bruce.
South Bruce OPP checked almost 11 thousand vehicles from the end of November to the end of December.
Two people were charged with impaired driving and seven 12-hour suspensions were handed out.
Grey County OPP checked almost 17 thousand vehicles — over five thousand less compared to last year.
Officers charged 12 people with impaired driving and also handed out nine 12-hour suspensions.
Bruce Peninsula OPP are still tabulating numbers after stopping over five thousand vehicles in RIDE checks over the holidays.
