The New Year’s Eve Family Celebration will be held at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre beginning at 6 PM.
Owen Sound’s Event Facilitator Doug Cleverley says the Family Celebration will feature ice skating, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, Klash the Clown and festive crafts.
A new years “countdown” will be held at 9 PM with a “colossal” balloon drop.
Admission is by donation.
Teens in Owen Sound aged 13-18 are being offered their own separate event this year at the Coliseum.
It’s called “Rock the Coliseum” and is being presented by Bayshore Broadcasting’s Mix 106, the United Way of Bruce Grey, and community partners.
Teenagers can register to take part in the Guitar Hero Battle with the famous Nintendo Wii video game, with Guitar Hero Three Legends of Rock as the top prize.
There will also be open gaming.
Later, there will be ice skating and a DJ dance party that runs until just after midnight.
The doors open at the Coliseum at 6:30 and admission is 5 bucks.
Teens taking part in the Guitar Hero competition pay 7 dollars admission.
