MPP Carol Mitchell was on hand in Searforth on Thursday to announce the installment of almost 132-thousand dollars.
The money is part of a job creation partnership program with the Huron Business Development Corporation and the Centre for Applied Renewable Energy (CfARE) in Brussels.
Participants in the project will be placed with energy-related organizations and businesses throughout Huron-Bruce, Grey, Lambton Middlesex, Perth, Waterloo an Wellington counties.
Mitchell says the Research programs include proposals to help rural communities benefit from a green economy and to chart the carbon footprint of Ontario.
President of HBDC Pam Stanley says, this funding shows that the province recognizes green and renewable energy as a stable piece of our economy.
She says the payoff is when you see government money go from project based to program based, when the people being trained are learning their new skills in the field.
