The Chesley and Chatsworth Fire Department is on the lookout for a few more volunteers for their force.
Arran Elderslie Mayor Ron Oswald says they like to have close to 20 volunteers at any given time.
Right now they need two or three more.
Oswald says anyone who’s interested can call him at the municipal office or call the newly appointed fire chief Robert Bell.
Oswald says Bell was approved by council to move into the fire chief’s position replacing the retiring Jack Lancaster.
He says Bell has about 25 years experience and was the deputy fire chief of the force for the past decade.
Oswald also says they have a new deputy fire chief as well in Duane StadeĀ who’s been a member of the fired department for the past 25 years as well.
Oswald says it’s good to promote from within and to have that experience in the administration end of the fire department.
The new positions kick in on January 1st.
