Huron Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan says developer Dave Brown has already been to council to explain his plan.
Brown held an open house in Ripley last night to show visitors exactly what he has in mind for his properties.
Twolan says Browns quite a few buildings in downtown Ripley and he would like to add second floors to many of the buildings.
He says Brown’s goal is to create 150 apartment units and approximately 39,000 square feet of commercial space.
Twolan says despite the economic turndown around us, the developer has the contacts that will spend the money to make the project happen.
Twolan says he has talked to Bruce County Council as well and realizes his community there will be some re-zoning issues but nothing that can’t be handled.
Twolan says they’re going to take it one step at a time.
