Saugeen Shores Manager of Recreation and Culture for the town Jayne Jagelewski says the next meeting on the proposed aquatic centre for the town is set for Tuesday at the Rotary Hall at the Plex, Noon to 1:30.
Jagelewski says the municipality wants to hear from people about what they see in such a facility and perhaps where it should be located.
She says this is the time they hope people will think “outside the box” before they start to create a business plan.
Jagelewski says they’ve already heard from many who want an 8-lane pool for competitive purposes; a large viewing and seating area; and one of the key ones has been a wading area for moms and tots.
The existing Centennial Pool at Saugeen District Secondary School is over 30 years old and needs repairs.
Pools of this type usually last about 35-years.
