The Kincardine Fire Hall will be getting a new roof, but it’s going to cost more than originally planned.
Council has agreed to let the work be done at a cost of over 48 thousand dollars, eight thousand more than was budgeted for.
Fire Chief Jamie MacKinnon says the extra costs will be covered by reserve funds.
The shingle roof was partially replaced in 2005 because of wind damage, and more damage has since taken place.
Water has leaked through and damaged interior walls and ceilings. Roof vents have allowed snow to get inside the attic area.
The new roof will be made of steel.
