Saugeen Shores Community Services Director Mike Myatt says about a dozen people showed up at a public meeting last night to talk about Port Elgin’s proposed entrance-way sign.
Myatt says the consensus was that the new logo should incorporate what Port Elgin is all about such as our world famous sunsets, along with quality of living in the area.
He says the next step is a logo being developed and returning to town council with the finished product.
After that, it will be sent to the town’s sign-maker in Michigan.
All of this should take until next spring sometime.
Meanwhile, a finished design on Southampton’s new entranceway sign should be ready by the new year.
Myatt says they have asked for some capital funds in upcoming budget sessions so that the town can begin erecting not only the entranceway signs bukt the special directional signs that will be prevalent within the community.
He hopes to have some of those up by late summer or early fall next year.
