13 year old Austen Hill suffered 3rd degree burns to 20 percent of his body last summer when a spark from a fire ignited his shorts sending melting hot material down the length of his legs.
Austen spent several weeks at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital recovering.
Despite a faster than expected recovery, Austen and his parents Amber and Jason Hill still make periodic trips to Toronto.
The Sydenham Community School boy also needs specialized burn garments for his legs that cost 12 hundred dollars each.
The Chatsworth Angels baseball team is organizing a benefit for the family Saturday night at the Chatsworth Arena from 8 til 1.
Organizer Karen Muxlow says several businesses have also donated prizes and silent auction items.
