The Saugeen Conservation Authority is hosting its annual Christmas in the Country this weekend.
Organizer Shannon Wood says the Saugeen Conservation Headquarters park has been transformed into an enchanting Christmas scene.
The park is aglow with thousands of lights, hundreds of candle lanterns and the sounds of Christmas music.
Visitors will be able to sip hot cider by an open fire, visit Santa’s workshop or take a horse drawn wagon ride through the park.
Wood says the event is sure to appeal to all ages.
There are also gingerbread cookies to decorate, barnyard animals to meet, a large nativity scene to take in and duck train rides for the little ones.
Wood says the goal of the event is to provide everyone with that good old fashioned Christmas feeling.
Parents are reminded to bundle their little ones up, because most of the events take place outdoors.
Admission is 6 dollars for adults, 2 dollars for kids and children under 5 get in free. All proceeds go back into conservation projects.
The Saugeen Conservation Headquarters is located 3 kilometres south of Hanover.
The event runs Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday 2 PM till 10 PM and Sunday 2 PM until 7 PM.
