A power outage for Port Elgin on Sunday will go as planned.
Westario Power Manager of Systems Reliability, Pat Protomanni says all affected Customers received notices indicating the outage.
Protomanni says they along with Hydro One, are replacing rotten poles.
He says it’s a big job, because the new poles have to go right back into the same hole the old pole came out of.
Power will go out at 6:30 Sunday morning, and come back on by 11:30.
Protomanni says they will phase in the restoration process, meaning some will have power before others.
About four thousand Westario Power customers are affected.
Meanwhile, about 650 hundred Hyro One customers affected by the planned outage in the region have been notified too.
Many people are upset the outage is planned during a time when upwards of twelve hundred visitors will be in the town for a Silver Stick Hockey Tournament.
Saugeen Shores Council and the Chamber of Commerce have written letters of concern, but hydro officials have already said they will not be changing the timing of the outage.
