Saugeen Shores Fire Department were called out to the scene of a fire and explosion in a garage at 418 Johnston St. in Port Elgin early Friday afternoon.
Fire Chief Phil Eagleson says just after 12 noon crews responded to an explosion and fire call and quickly brought the blaze under control. Within 45 minutes the fire was completely out. No injuries were reported.
There’s no official word yet on the possible cause of the explosion and fire. The Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to investigate.
