President of the printing sector of the company Brian Reid says another 30 employees will be added to the line.
Reid says the new jobs are entry-level positions.
The jobs are in addition to the 100 full-time employees recently hired at the printing plant.
Reid says the new workers are being brought on board to help with the company’s new contract with Rogers Media.
Undser the contract, Transcontinental will begin printing 70 magazines for Rogers, including Maclean’s and Chatelaine.
The hirings bring the plant’s workforce to well over 700.
In addition to the Rogers contract, Reid himself is making news at the plant.
He was recently promoted to president of the printing sector for Transcontinental.
He oversees 40 printing plants and 85 hundred employees in North America.
Reid says he’ll maintain his residence here in Owen Sound, and have offices in Toronto and Montreal.
