The City of Owen Sound is going to allow free downtown parking on Saturday’s in December.
Council has approved a plan to allow free parking on Saturday’s on 2nd Avenue East for the month of December.
Council also received a petition from twenty five downtown businesses requesting free parking be extended to the entire month of December.
That issue will be dealt with during a public meeting on November 25th.
The DIA is also asking city staff to park further away from city hall to free up space for holiday shoppers.
Council is asking staff to voluntarily park elsewhere until a final decision is made.
