Some relief for tourists heading to Sauble Beach next summer.
South Bruce Peninsula council has decided to accept the recommendation of the Paid Parking committee and go back to hourly parking along the beach.
It will be three dollars an hour to park along Lakeshore boulevard, but the daily rate is going up from ten dollars to fifteen dollars.
The parking rate was controversial this summer when only the daily rate was charged and there was no option for hourly parking.
Some business owners complained that the high cost of gas, poor weather and the flat parking rate, all combined to keep tourists away.
One of the proponents of having hourly parking at the Beach is Mark Wunderlich.
He is pleased council has agreed to make the changes and feels it will be beneficial to business next summer.
