An “Antique Treasures and Appraisals” fundraiser is being held tomorrow at the Chesley Community Center from 1-4 PM.
The money raised from the event will go to the “Bruce Children Are Special” Foundation.
Foundation board president Ken Wiese says professionals will be on hand to give appraisals on items brought in by the public.
Wiese says it will cost 5 dollars to have an item appraised, a lot less than it would cost if the item was taken to Toronto for an estimate.
He says local appraisers are hard to find.
Wiese says the public can also stay and watch other items being appraised, similar to the Antiques Roadshow TV program.
The “Bruce Children Are Special” Foundation is a non-profit organisation that collects and gives donations to children who are served by the Children’s Aid Society of the County of Bruce.
Wiese says money raised by the foundation helps fund summer camps for children who are in CAS care, as well as Christmas Hampers and College Bursaries.
