Many veterans in our area are shining up their medals and getting their uniforms ready for Remembrance Day ceremonies.
Services and parades will be held across the region today.
Bayshore Broadcasting News asked residents if they think Remembrance Day should be a statutory holiday.
Everyone we spoke to agree it should.
Many say it would be great to get together with family on the day and remember the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Some feel it would be better for their children to attend services put on by our area legions rather than be in class so they’d like to see it become a day off for everyone.
Others say it’s always nice to get another day off work.
