Spokesperson Lucy Gowers says they have received several applications from families already but continue to get calls asking for more information.
She says families now have until December 5th to get their information into Habitat if they want to qualify to live in one of the four units being built in South Bruce Peninsula.
Gowers says the criteria for qualifying include a combined income of less than 43 thousand 500 dollars a year.
The family also has to show they can make monthly mortgage payments and they also need to do 500 volunteer hours on the project.
Gowers says they’re almost ready to break ground on the Wiarton units but are also still working hard to increase members on their committees, garner more community financial partners and pump up the volunteer base.
Anyone interested in either qualifying for the affordable homes or helping to build them contact Habitat for Humanity.
Gowers will be a guest on Soundingboard with John Divinski on 98 the Beach next Tuesday, November 11th.
