Saugeen Shores police say the incident happened late last week when a 50 year old Saugeen Shores man apparently took a metal bar to the showcase window at Vincent Jewellers on High Street.
A citizen called police and a man was arrested and charged with mischief and breach of probation.
Nothing was taken in the incident as the window did not break but shattered.
Police were kept busy on another vandalism complaint.
Police are looking for anyone who might have information on some graffiti being spray painted onto the garage at the United Church on Bruce Street in Port Elgin.
That incident took place late last week as well.
