The Owen Sound Attack have finally learned how many games rookie forward Garrett Wilson will miss.
The OHL has decided to suspend Owen Sound forward Garrett Wilson for 15 games for a slew footing penalty in Kitchener last Friday.
The incident occurred midway through the second period of a 7-6 loss to the Rangers.
Wilson hit Rangers defenceman Dan Kelly who fell awkwardly into the boards and ended up breaking his right ankle.
In reviewing the incident, OHL commissioner David Branch says he didn’t believe Wilson intended to injure Kelly.
But Branch did say they are of the opinion that the actions of Wilson resulted in a serious leg injury to Kelly.
The Commissioner says the act of slew-footing is an action that must be eliminated from the game.
Wilson has already missed three games for the Attack.
Owen Sound will host Erie at 7:30 PM tonight at the Lumley Bayshore.
