The second last fall fair to take place in Ontario goes this weekend in Walkerton.
The 154th Little Royal Fair kicks off today at the Walkerton Agriculture Society fairgrounds.
Agriculture Society Secretary Treasurer Marlene Berry says this fair is a tune up for the Royal Winter Fair that takes place early next month
She says traditionally the first day of the Little Royal fair is when all the children from the local schools come to the fair to check out the displays and attractions.
Berry says local 4 H groups use this fair as a warm up for the Royal as they exhibit their sheep beef and dairy cattle.
Other events include poultry and rabbit show, and competition in the grains, roots and vegetables area.
Berry says one of the biggest attractions features some of the biggest competitors at the fair and that is the heavy horse pull on Sunday afternoon.
She says there is a pulling event of another sort as well with the kids pedal tractor pull when the youngsters see how much they can pull with an old fashioned pedal tractor.
Berry says the roast beef dinner Saturday night also is a big hit with visitors to the fair.
