It’s time to help out the Salvation Army and its Thanksgiving Food drive.
Owen Sound Captain Colin Bain says the goal for this year is the same as last year at 28 thousand pounds of food.
The food collected this weekend will help the Army serve some 200 families – about 450 people – a month in need of assistance.
Bain says the Thanksgiving drive provides food from now until the Christmas season.
Bain says they are accepting non-perishable food items through Monday.
Drop offs can be made at area grocery stores or at theĀ Salvation army office on 2nd avenue east at 10th street in Owen Sound.
Donations are also being collected at 98 the Beach today from 8:30 til 4 and again tomorrow from 10 til 2.
Credit card donations can be made at any time by calling 1-800 SAL-ARMY (725-2769) and make sure you direct the money to the Owen Sound Salvation army.
