Pucks and bucks were being thrown around at the Easter Seals fundraising dinner in Port Elgin.
Around $200,000 was raised last night at the CAW Centre to help children with physical disabilities.
The event was chaired by Bruce Power President and CEO Duncan Hawthorne and Port Elgin native Jeff Preston.
Singer Justin Hines performed for the audience and former Toronto Maple Leaf Captain Wendel Clark was a guest speaker.
Hawthorne says Easter Seals is not a hard cause to sell to the community.
He says people understand how fortunate they are that they don’t need the help.
He says when you see someone like 9 year old Natalie McDonald of Hanover, who is in a wheelchair, it is hard not to support them.
Hawthorne says he is proud that in a small community they managed to raise a lot of money and perhaps even more than the big fundraiser in Toronto.
He says they are always looking for more companies to contribute and add more tables to the Easter Seals event.
Clark has been involved with the Easter Seals since he was drafted by the Maple Leafs in 1985.
He says he has learned playing hockey in Toronto to represent the team and the team does what they can to give back to the community.
