It’s what a lot of people in Saugeen Shores have been waiting to hear.
Port Elgin’s Wal Mart job fair begins this morning at ten at the Guest House Inn in Southampton.
Wal Mart manager in Port Elgin Leandra Murphy says it’s really a “soft” opening to the job fair today.
Murphy however, shared the news with Bayshore Broadcasting News.
She says they’re looking for up to 150 people who are after both full time and part time positions.
Murphy says every position is open from department managers to cashiers to sales floor associates.
All job descriptions will be available at the job fair.
Murphy says potential employees can bring a resume but they will still need to fill out a Wal Mart application and if time permits, a live interview will follow the initial paperwork.
The Wal Mart job fair goes today, tomorrow and Wednesday from 10am to 6pm and Thursday and Friday, 8am to 5pm at the Guest House Inn in Southampton on Highway 21.
Murphy says she started her job as the Port Elgin manager in mid-August.
She has transferred from her manager’s job in Ancaster, just outside of Hamiton, Ontario but she’s familiar with this area, being a native of the Neustadt area.
She says she’s very excited about the pending store opening in south Port Elgin.
Company officials say that should happen sometime early in the new year.
