The Grey Bruce Children’s Water Festival will be holding its 8th annual event today in Chesley.
The Festival is a division of the Grey Bruce Children’s Water Education Council.
Chairman of the Organising Committee Craig Todd says about two thousand Grade 4 students from across the two counties will converge at the Chesley Community Centre.
Todd says the children spend the day learning about water conservation and protection.
Todd says they target students in Grade 4 because the topic of water conservation and protection is part of their curriculum.
He says the students come from every school in the area, including private and home-schooled children.
Todd says they hope to make two-thousand new water stewards at the event.
He says it’s heartwarming to see that some of the students who attended the first water festivals are now in highschool, volunteering to help this year’s attendees through the program.
