Some frustration was vented this week in Sauble Beach by homeowners and business owners upset about taxes.
On Wednesday, some business owners and members of council took a tour of Sauble Beach… checking out some of the upgrades that have been completed and looking at what needs to be addressed.
Those upgrades include new fire hydrants and upgrades to the 6th street and Main street washrooms.
The improvements came mainly thru funds from the ten dollar flat parking fee in Sauble.
ON Thursday, the Paid Parking committee met with several long time business owners in Sauble.
South Bruce Peninsula councillor Mark Wunderlich says over 500 years worth of business experience combined showed up to talk about improvements they want to see for next year.
Representatives of the Friends of Sauble Beach, the property owners association, Lion’s club and Chamber of commerce were all at the meeting…
Wunderlich says he hears daily from people complaining about the ten dollar parking fee…
He says business owners wanted to reduce the fee back to the two dollar an hour charge during the summer, but no change was made.
A lot of people have complained about paying shoreline assessment fees, or high business taxes… only to then have to pay to park in their own community.
Wunderlich says it was a good meeting and some of the ideas will be back at the next meeting in October.
