It is the oldest school based Fall Fair in Canada and it takes place today at Grey Roots Museum in Owen Sound.
Grey Roots spokesman Petal Furness says the Sydenham Fall fair has been taking place every year for 155 years and is completly organized by the school students and their parents and the Sydenham agricultural society.
She says the fair gives 23 different classes and 500 students a chance to show off their talents in a wide range of agricultural activities.
Furness says as part of Grey Roots mandate to celebrate Grey County History and Agriculture, the Moreston Village is an ideal place to stage this historic fall fair.
She says some student shave raised farm animals to show at the fair, while others have made crafts or baked goods.
Other students will display the fruits and vegetables they have gown since the spring in their garden club.
The hundreds of different displays will be set up in several inside Grey Roots and outside in Moreston.
The fall fair goes today from 10 in the morning until 2.30 in the afternoon, but the student’s displays will remain in place at Grey Roots until Sunday for public viewing.
