While school boards across the province struggle with declining enrolment, the two boards in Grey-Bruce are having mixed results.
The Bluewater District School Board seems to be following provincial trends, with about 435 less students enrolled this year than last school year.
This year, they have just over 11 thousand full-time students, compared to last year when they had 11 and a half thousand students.
However, at the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, numbers have actually increased overall.
Although enrolment at the board’s elementary schools has declined by about 75 students, their secondary schools have seen an increase of 160 students.
There are almost 25 hundred students enrolled at the elementary level, and about 15 hundred in the board’s secondary schools.
