Interim conservative leader Bob Runciman admits it was tough… to fire Bill Murdoch from the Tory caucus.
Runciman tells Bayshore Broadcasting news he has known the Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP for nearly 20 years and they have worked together on a number of issues.
Yesterday, Runciman had to phone Murdoch to tell him he was officially kicked out of the party.
Runciman says it became obvious that a meeting between the local MPP and the Tory caucus would be useless because Murdoch had not changed his mind about the leadership of John Tory.
He says the now Independent MPP will have less resources to work with and will have to move out the Conservative area office he has, but financially he won’t be hit with a pay cut.
Runciman says Murdoch will find his way into the news, but he will have fewer opportunities to be heard in the legislature.
