All it takes to help the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce is a cup of coffee.
The Society is holding its 13th annual Alzheimer Coffee Break this month.
The first few Coffee Break events have already been held — including one in our radio station parking lot yesterday (FRI — both in OS and PE).
Community Development Co-ordinator Bill Twaddle says they are still looking for volunteers to host coffee breaks.
Twaddle says it can be as simple as putting a collection jar next to the coffee maker at the office, or as elaborate as hosting a dinner for friends.
Last year, 375 Coffee Break hosts across Grey bruce raised 45 thousand dollars.
Twaddle notes last year’s total placed Grey-Bruce third in the province’s 37 Alzheimer Society Chapters.
Twaddle says more than 95 per cent of the money raised stays in this area to provide information, education and support programs and services.
The Society serves individuals, families, and health care professionals.
The remaining funds are directed to research to help find a cause and cure for Alzheimer Disease.
