The Liberals in the riding of Bruce Grey Owen Sound have their man for the upcoming federal election.
Sauble Beach resident Thom Noble won the nomination after a total of 223 ballots were cast at last night’s meeting.
He defeated Bruce MacDonald of Hanover and Kim Love of Southgate.
Even though the election campaign has started, Noble doesn’t think he has to play catch up because he has a great team and he is very approachable.
Noble says a big issue facing the riding is the recent loss of manufacturing jobs and he says the goal is to get them back.
Noble says Conservative incumbent Larry Miller made huge promises when he went to Ottawa and when he got there he couldn’t keep them.
Noble says the Conservative MP has brought little money back into the riding.
Noble adds Miller goes by the quote “politicians are like diapers and need to be changed regularly” — and he says Miller is about to be changed.
As for the NDP Party, Noble thinks their days as a political force in the riding are numbered.
Noble believes the only way you can win the riding is by winning the farm vote.
Noble says you can lose the Owen Sound and Hanover vote but you can’t lose the farmer vote.
