One of two temporary towers has been approved in Grey Highlands, as a company explores the viability of Turbine wind generation in the area.
Mayor Brian Mullins says the one meteorlogical tower south of Warram was recently approved by council, but the second one closer to Maxwell was sent back to staff for review.
That second tower would have been close to the road and near several residences, so council felt the company could find a more suitable site.
Mayor Mullin expects a revised proposal to come to council later this month.
Aim PowerGen is looking at spending 25 million dollars on ten Turbine generators in Grey Highlands, with plans to sell the Electricity to Ontario Power Generation.
The company is hoping to put up two meterological towers in the area to find the best location for the permanent sites.
Mayor Mullin says the test towers would be operational for up to three years, while information is collected by the company.
