Voting is underway for Zone Directors for the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
OFA members in all zones are voting by mail until September 12th.
In Zone 2, which represents Grey Bruce there are two candidates seeking the position.
They are Paul Wettlauffer and Robert Emerson.
Emerson is a career farmer from the Ripley area of Bruce County and is campaigning on improving farm incomes through the market place rather than from subsidies.
Wettlauffer is a 6th generation farmer in the Ayton area who runs a cow calf and cash crop operation.
He wants the OFA to ensure that farmers dont end up paying for such things as source protection, Species at risk and Greenbelt legislation.
Election of the 2009 OFA board of directors will take place at the Associations annual convention on November 24th.
