Bruce Peninsula OPP say the 22 year old was driving on a closed portion of Queen Street in Hepworth on Saturday.
The street is undergoing construction.
A resident of Queen Street had children playing on their bikes in the area and yelled at the man to slow down.
Police say the driver turned the vehicle around and drove his car at the resident, throwing the resident onto the vehicle’s hood.
The man then reversed the car, throwing the man from the hood to the ground, and fled the scene.
Police say the vehicle’s licence plate was noted and the man was arrested later Saturday night in Owen Sound.
His vehicle was seized and he’ll be in court in November.
