A sneak peakĀ at the 2008 International Plowing Match.
Over a hundred local politicians, dignitaries, and landowners gathered for the IPM Media Day event yesterday at the farm of Wayne and Wendy McKague in Teeswater.
Among those who attended included South Bruce Mayor Bill Goetz, Bruce County Warden Milt McIver, Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell, and Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch.
IPM Spokesperson Cheryl Leifso says the tented city is technically a “Field of Dreams” as the number of tents have been growing since then.
She says a lot of community groups and businesses have come on board and they will have a large number of exhibitors at the event.
Leifso says there will be about 650 displays in place during the five-day event.
She says a number those are ones that you can’t just walk by and get a glimpse, you have to get active and be a part of it.
Leifso says there will be displays highlighting Bruce County including agriculture and recreation to be shown all under one roof.
The McKagues are the “Mayors” of the tented city.
Wendy McKague says the people have started setting up the city on August 18th.
She says the tented city was made possible with the help of the volunteers.
McKague says it is all coming together so fast and it will be a great event this September.
She says she is looking forward to that week where they can take a deep breath and enjoy all the hard work that has gone into it.
