The community of Allenford is stepping up to the plate to help an Allenford woman and her son, who lost their home in a fire.
The blaze occurred on Labour Day Monday after a pot of grease apparently was left unattended on a stove.
Aikens Home Hardware in Allenford has begun a campaign for the family, calling for donations of household goods and cash.
The campaign began today.
The home was destroyed in the blaze and a 48 year old woman suffered some minor burn injuries.
It closed down Highway 21 in both directions for a while on Monday evening so firefighters could do their job.
