The fire department was called the 14th Street West home around nine this morning after a three year old girl acros the street spotted smoke and told her mother.
Fire officials are looking into the cause of the blaze, but they do know the fire started in the kitchen.
The family wasn’t at home at the time — they were at work and at school.
But the family’s dog died in the blaze while two cats managed to escape safely.
