It’s time for the Annual Labour Day Parade in Port Elgin.
Speaking on Soundingboard with John Divinski, President of the Grey Bruce Labour Council Dave Trumble invites everyone to take part.
It starts at Home Hardware on Goderich Street at 11 this morning and wraps up at the south end of town.
Trumble says following the parade, speakers will offer their thoughts on the year, at the CAW Family Education Centre.
He says Labour Day is all about recognizing and celebrating advances made in labour laws and employment standards, and the work that needs to be done as well.
Trumble says this year especially, speakers will touch on the loss of manufacturing jobs, but also the hope to turn that around.
The Family Fun Day portion takes place at 2 in the afternoon at the main CAW parking lot.
Trumble says they’ll be offering a bike rodeo for kids, a car and motorcycle show and shine there.
