A new doctor will not be coming to Walkerton after all.
Doctor Jacques Simenoff was expected to set up practice in town but decided not to for personal reasons.

Rhys says Doctor Simenoff informed the team of his decision earlier this month.
Rhys says Dr. Simenoff did not inform the team of his personal reasons but the team felt it was not their place to find out.
Rhys says it’s very disappointing news because Dr. Simenoff said a short while ago of his decision to come to the town and then quickly said no.
Rhys says it is important to know Dr. Simenoff’s decision not to come had nothing to do with the town.
Rhys says the town still remains with 5 doctors which he says is fine but they do know one doctor who is going to retire in a year.
Rhys says they are coming to a point where they need to find at least a doctor or two in the near future to deal with the patients of the doctor retiring.
